First doctor's appointment - 5 days old

See you on Friday, Papa!
I love my daddy!
Today was Payton's first doctor's appointment. He is five days old and almost back up to his birth weight at 8 pounds even. Everything looked great! He is in the 99th percentile for height and 45th percentile for weight, though we aren't sure where he is getting the heighth thing from.

Last night he slept through the night. I nursed him at about 11:30 and he didn't wake up to nurse again until 4 am. He has really been an easy, content baby so far.

40 weeks!

Tomorrow is my due date, but I am trying not to get my hopes up that he will be born tomorrow or anything. The good news is if I do not have him by Wednesday, they are going to induce me. So the longest I will possibly be pregnant is 5 more days. I am not even counting Wednesday because they will have me come in at 1 in the morning (crazy huh?!) I really want to go into labor on my own, but I am tired of waiting (I know I am impatient) and I don't want him to get much bigger. Just pray I will go into labor before that. They would induce me as soon as Monday, but apparently they will only induce one person a day unless its an emergency and they are already booked. I am hoping this will give me a chance to go into labor before then, but either way this is finally happening!
Yesterday was my last appointment. My weight gain total is up to 26 pounds, which isn't actually that bad considering he wanted me to gain between 25-35. Hopefully I will leave the hospital considerably lighter and won't have much more to lose. I have a list of people Gregg is going to call when Payton is actually born so if you want to be on the list, let me know! (If you are reading this you are probably already on the list but check anyways)
I am going with some friends to a play tonight. It is actually a musical one of our friends is in. I figured if I am going to be uncomfortable anyways, I might as well be having fun!
Any day now!!

37 weeks (tomorrow)

So I am getting the point where I am counting down the days and praying that Payton decides not to come late. At my doctor's appointment today, he told me that Payton is considered full term tomorrow, so I am starting to get a little antsy. I know he will come in God's timing so I guess I should really just be praying for patience :) The doctor said his head is down and he is "engaged" but since this is my first time at all of this I think it means I am just uncomfortable (not going to have him soon!). By the way I am up to 22 total pounds :0

The last few weeks I have been really busy. I scored 10th grade writing assessments the last two weekends and then between this week and last week I have subbed 5 days. I love the fact that I am helping make our family money, but I am really tired and looking forward to having tomorrow off. My friend Kylee is coming over tomorrow with her 5 month old baby boy, Greg, so I looking forward to a relaxing day to hang out with them and get some new mommy and labor advice. Since Kylee was pregnant when I found out I was pregnant she has been a good source of advice so far and I can't wait for our little boys to be friends with each other.

We got all of our staff application stuff in and I think all of our references are in so now we just have to play the waiting game with that too. I feel like for the next few weeks I will just be sitting around and waiting in general. I guess its just the calm before the "storm" (storm in a good way!)

Since we still don't have internet, no pictures. Sorry!

35 weeks!

Our internet is down so that is why I haven't put up any new post. I can't put up any new pictures because I can't get on from my computer. At my last appointment I was actually down a pound, so my total so far is 20 pounds. I like this because the doctor said I am on pace for about 25 pounds total. The baby is still doing good and growing big. He is head down still so I am getting sore. Other than that I have felt awesome. I got a great opportunity to work as a scorer for the Benchmark writing test for 10th grade. They pay great and I actually enjoy it. It is just for the next two weekends, but it has been cool so far. So that's how God has been providing lately. That and instead of having to pay taxes like we thought we are are going to get some back. I am having a shower here with my college friends on Monday. So that is the next thing I am looking forward too. Hopefully I will be able post pictures soon!

32 Weeks - Baby Shower

This past weekend we got to go to Whitefish for a baby shower. With exception of being in the car for 9 hours each direction, the weekend was awesome. On Friday night we went to high school divisional basketball games. Keaton plays in the pep band, so we went to hear him play and watch the game. It was some really intense games and we got to see some teachers and coaches from the high school that we haven't seen in a while.

My shower was on Saturday at Gregg's mom's church. We had a chocolate fountain with all sorts of fruit and cookies and treats to dip in it. Also one of Susan's friends made homemade ice cream. There were about 20 or so ladies and I got so much nice stuff.

My grandma got Payton a little chargers outfit and Oma got him some Oakland A's clothes. They know us so well!

Nursery

I finally got to set up the nursery! I am so excited for how cute it turned out. The house we are currently living in has a small extra bedroom, which is perfect for a nursery. Since we are renting, I didn't get to paint it, but I still really like the way it turned out. My mom got me the bedding from Target and It love it. It is made of really nice material and is so soft. I can't wait to put our son in the crib. Here are some pictures!

Here is the changing table. My mom got these bins that match the bedding to act like drawers since there is no room in this tiny nursery for a dresser. I love the matching wall hangings too.

Here is all of his tiny little clothes. At my shower, they wrote in the invite for people to bring their favorite books, so Payton already has a little library.

31 weeks

We just signed up for our classes at the hospital and it feels like it is getting close! I am so excited to go home (to Whitefish) next week. It seems like its been so long even though I saw my family a few months ago.

We are in the process of sending in our Campus Crusade for Christ staff applications and it is quite a process. The application itself is about 40 pages long plus we are required to each have 7 references. I am hoping to have it all finished and sent in by tomorrow. Even though new staff training isn't until June, we have to get all this in and get officially accepted before we can get our tickets and start raising support for training. It is all daunting because we will be raising around $6000 for our month and a half of training. I know God will provide whatever we need to do whatever he requires of us, so we are leaving it is His hands.

Here's my latest picture and by the way I have gained a total of ... gasp... 19 pounds. I am tempted to freak out, but I know I am still working out and eating healthy so I am hoping I will be fine :) I will just have to work hard after he is born, so I can get back in shape before we go to Florida in June.

Ultrasound

My doctor had me get another ultrasound, just to double check on the question they had about the adrenal gland before. He said it was mainly just precautionary, but I was happy that I got a chance to see our baby again before he is born. Everything looked great at the ultrasound. He weighed in at 3 and a half pounds which is a few weeks ahead, but not too much. I just am hoping that doesn't mean he is a big baby! He is head down now and we are hoping he stays that way until delivery. He was facing my spine, so we couldn't really get any new face pictures, but the tech was able to get all the info she needed and we were able to verify that he definately is a boy.

Here is a little video she was able to get of his hand moving. His legs are to the left of the picture (you can only see down to his knees) and his head is off the right side. About half way through the clip you can see his hand wave right in the middle of the screen. His other arm is across the top, so you can see his elbow and his right fist. She tried to get better video, but he was asleep and wasn't cooperating so I guess we will have to wait until d-day to get anymore.

29 weeks (almost 30!)

So I missed a few post again, but there wasn't a lot of new news. Our little boy is starting to get big and I am trying to figure out how he will still have room to keep growing. Oh I know it will happen, but I already feel like he is so crowded in there. I can still feel him move a the time, especially up in my ribs now and I am learning a lot about something I knew nothing about before pregnancy - heartburn. It actually got bad enough that I tried tums for the first time. I felt like the stereotypical pregnant woman because Gregg had to make a 10 pm trip to Walmart to get some (we have never had it in our house before!) Now I don't know why I didn't try it before; it works so good. I don't really like taking medicine (I am not sure why because it generally helps) but I am crazy for not trying it before. OK... thats enough about that.

On Friday I go in for my 30 week appointment and from then on, they have me coming in every two weeks. It must be getting close. Although 10 weeks still seems like forever right now. I will have to update you on the whole weight gain issue then. Its crazy because as much as I enjoy being pregnant, I want to be done. Not to not be pregnant, but just because I want my baby!

I am so excited for my shower in Whitefish. I am really excited to see my family and I know it will be the last time I am in Whitefish before the little guy will be here. My mom got the bedding for his crib and I can't wait to see it and finish setting up his room. Gregg and I have the crib and changing table and couch set up right now and I made a shelf with a bar that all of his tiny clothes are hanging on, so it is starting to look like a nursery, but the bedding will tie it all together!

Here I am getting huge!

Kendra and Gavin's Wedding

Kendra and Gavin were married on Dec 29th in Union, Oregon. I think I was more emotional for my sisters wedding than I was for my own. Kendra looked so beautiful and the service and reception went perfectly. I am so excited for them and also very happy they are in La Grande now instead of Union, so we can see them more.

27 weeks - Pregnancy Portraits

I am starting to get really bored because I haven't had a subbing day since I have been back. Maybe teachers just don't want to use a day off when they were just on a two week break. At least this has given me extra time to sleep. I feel so lazy because I haven't really had much to do, so I take a nap every day. I think (I hope) it will pick up soon!

I really wanted to get pregnancy portraits done, but couldn't imagine spending the money on them, so Gregg agreed we could try to do them ourselves. We just hung a sheet up on the wall and Gregg took them with our digital camera. The ones he is in, we just set the timer for. I am so happy with how they turned out. We got about 100 of them and it only took about an hour. I tried to narrow it down but I know this is still a lot!

26 weeks

Not too much new since last post... I did start Payton's scrapbook. It has been a lot of fun, but now i have a lot of respect for women who make their kid's scrapbooks after they are born. It takes a lot more time then I expected (ok I am kinda a math nerd so I measure everything out exactly) but I am really pleased with the results so far. Now if I only had some baby pictures to put in it. But that will come soon enough I am sure.

This week has been really slow. It has been good to see all of our friends, but now that class has started, I am home by myself a lot of the the days while they are in school and Gregg works. Subbing has been slow because school was canceled 2 days last week because of the high winds. Hopefully that will pick up soon! I am sure it will start getting really busy when I can't do it too much :)

I am excited that I found out I will be having a baby shower in Whitefish on February 23rd. It is kind or early, but I don't really want to be traveling much after that ( I will be 32 weeks). Here is my latest belly shot.

I gained how much?

So, I just got home from the doctor's and I have gained 15 pounds. I was shocked! My nurse said that was good for being 26 weeks along, but I am still so surprised. I guess its all part of the process though. And I am sure he will be worth every pound and then some.

I got creative and crafty (at least for me) and made an A's baby blanket. My grandma gave us little A's pj's for him and so when I saw this fleece I just had to do it.

25 weeks...Its been a while!

These last few weeks have been so crazy I didn't take any pictures or anything. So finally things have calmed down and I have a few minutes to myself. Kendra's wedding was beautiful. Everything went perfectly and everyone made it in town and home safely despite the winter weather. As soon as I get a few pictures from it, I will post them. These last few weeks I have felt Payton moving so much. Gregg says its because he has a lot of fast-twitch muscle (apparently he thinks our baby is going to be an athlete). The other day, Gregg and I had fun just watching my stomach move around. I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday, but I don't think it is a big one. I am just kind of nervous to see how much weight I have gained. My maternity clothes are really fitting now. I just hope they do for 3 more months. I am already getting anxious to get back in shape. I have still been working out, but I just don't feel the same as normal. Maybe its because there is boy hormones in me :)

6 days until Christmas!

My time in Whitefish has been so crazy! I have really loved being back at work at the jewelry store. It has been fun to see some of the customers that come in every year. Because it is downtown Whitefish, I have seen a lot of people I know, especially kids I graduated from high school with. I was at work for 12 1/2 hours on Friday and that was a little too long for me. I was so tired. The rest has been really good though.

I feel like I have popped! It seems like to me that I look huge, but its fun now that other people who don't know me can tell I a pregnant. While I am working at the store, I have a lot of people ask me when I am due and all those kinds of questions. I hope I am not too big already though :) I love how much I can feel the baby moving. He is very active and I love to lay in bed in the morning and just feel him kick around. Here's a picture to update my progress.
