November is already here and halfway done. I can't believe Lydi is almost 5 months old already...it really doesn't seem possible. We have so many new and fun things going on it our house its hard to keep up with. Gregg is doing awesome with his new position at work. It is busy and challenging which he loves. I have been equally (or maybe exceedingly!) busy and challenged at home with the kids. They are such a joy, but somedays so much work too. We are going through interesting phases of strong wills and emotions both good and bad. Lots of new skills have been aquired by the boys through this stubborness. Payton now reconizes all of the letters and knows at least one of their sounds(at least in capital form. We are still working on some of the lowercase letters.) And he is learning to write them. He has been practicing his name especially and is getting really good at it. He has been writing it, typing it and making it out of magnet letters and blocks and can do all those things on his own now. We are working on his last name. Kellen, in efforts to keep up with his big brother, knows almost all of his letters (name or sound or both). He loves pointing them out when he sees them. And he recently surprised us all when he counted to 16. Since then he does it regularly, but not when you ask him haha! The boys have been playing together so well lately (a lot of fighting, but I think that is expected). They play pretend together for hours. Sometimes I just stand outside of the playroom and listen to them its so cute. That is balanced out by the days they drive each other (and me) crazy by their fighting, but what are brother for?
Poor Kelly has been a little under the weather for the last few weeks. Right after his 2nd bday, when we took him in for his 2 year check, he had an ear infection. They gave him antibiotics for it. About two weeks later I told Gregg he still didn't seem like he was feeling well and sure enough woke up that night with a high fever. We brought him in the next day and he had severe ear infections in both ears. He had to be put on a special antibiotic that he is taking every day FOUR times a day for TWENTY days. So much medicine :( But he has seemed like he is feeling quite a bit better.
Lydia continues to be a sweet baby. She is so involved and aware of what is going on around her and makes noises to get the boys attention when they are playing. She is my most talkative baby yet so she may give Payton a run for his money. They continue to adore her which is reciprocated by many smiles and giggles. It melts my heart like no other. She is growing well in the 75% for height and 50% for weight. She is getting close to sitting on her own and love being in the standing position either in her exersaucer or while we hold her.
