6 days until Christmas!

My time in Whitefish has been so crazy! I have really loved being back at work at the jewelry store. It has been fun to see some of the customers that come in every year. Because it is downtown Whitefish, I have seen a lot of people I know, especially kids I graduated from high school with. I was at work for 12 1/2 hours on Friday and that was a little too long for me. I was so tired. The rest has been really good though.

I feel like I have popped! It seems like to me that I look huge, but its fun now that other people who don't know me can tell I a pregnant. While I am working at the store, I have a lot of people ask me when I am due and all those kinds of questions. I hope I am not too big already though :) I love how much I can feel the baby moving. He is very active and I love to lay in bed in the morning and just feel him kick around. Here's a picture to update my progress.

More ultrasound pics!

So we had a little scare, but everything is fine. There was a little static on one of my ultrasound pictures that the radiologist looked at and he was concerned it might be something. It only showed up on only one of the slides and not on the others but he wanted me to get a second ultrasound just to be sure. Even though I am in Whitefish this week and couldn't go to my regular doctor, we are friends with Dr. Heine (a retired OBGYN) and he sent me to one of his ultrasound techs to get it all checked out. Everything turned out to be great! They ended up doing an indepth ultrasound and everything looks perfect. It is really cool too because my dad ended up getting to go with me and he was really excited (once they found out everything was fine) to get to see it. He even brought the pictures to the school Christmas program with him (he is the principal) and during his opening speech he held up the pictures and said "If anyone wants to see pictures of my grandson, they can see me after the program." I love it!

Here's the new pictures I got today! The first one is his footprint, the second one is a profile and the third ones is another face shot. I am not going to be able to post any pictures of my belly because I don't have my camera with me so we will have to see the progress after I get home.

Its a BOY!!

So we just got back from our ultasound and it is definately a boy! When my mom saw the screen she said, "Oh, Its a boy" before the nurse even said it. Gregg wouldn't let me post the picture to prove it because he thinks its rude, but trust me on this one, its a boy :) When Gregg heard he got teary. It was so sweet. Everything looked great. He measured out at a few days ahead of his due date, so they say about April 18th. He was moving so much the whole time that some of the pictures are kind of blury, but it was so fun to watch him kick and feel it at the same time.

This first picture is of his face. His hand is rubbing his left eye, but you can see his right eye, nose and mouth and the top half of his body. It was so cute to watch him rubbing his eyes and putting his fingers in his mouth.

The second one is his side profile. His spine is across the top of the picture and he is facing down. His head is on the left side of the picture, but you can't really see his face because he was moving so much.

Halfway there!

I can't believe it. I am not going to lie, but it seems like it is taking forever. Maybe because I have really been waiting years, not just 20 weeks. We had a great Thanksgiving. Kendra's shower was fun and there was such a great turn out. I enjoyed being able to catch up with a lot of people I hadn't seen in a while and the food was great. It was so good to be in Whitefish for a few days I have decided to go back! Actually, the jewelry store I always work out needs a little extra help around Christmas, so I am taking the train back with my mom on Dec 9 and will stay with them and sell jewelry until they come back to La Grande the Sunday before Christmas. It should be a lot of fun ( I love working with Stacey) and I am starting to get bored without much to do here. Plus with a baby on the way, we can always use the extra money. At my appointment, I found out that I have started gaining weight. 5.5 pounds in the last 6 weeks to be exact! And I am starting to feel it too. I am still on the low side of what they want me to gain so its no big deal, but its crazy because I have never wanted to gain weight! Everything else looked good at the appointment. Only 9 days until our big ultrasound!

Week 19

Its only a few days until Thanksgiving and I am just reminded of everything we have to be thankful for. Today I got back the results for the maternal serum testing (a series of blood test for different birth defects) and everything can back normal. I have been feeling the baby move a lot the last few day. I love it! Gregg is still working at McDonalds, something we initially thought was going to just be temporary, but it is cool how God has been working through it. His supervisors love him. They just gave him a great shift, 5 am - 1 pm, Monday through Friday. This is a blessing in a lot of ways. Its in the mornings, he doesn't have to work on the weekends and its 40 hours a week. I never thought a job at McDonalds could be a blessing, but jobs around here are really hard to get especially since we are leaving in June. I have been subbing a few days a week and that is great! Its good money and I love being with the kids. Next Monday I have an appointment with my doctor, so I will give you updates after that. Here's my latest belly picture!

18 Weeks

We are almost at the halfway point! This is really exciting for me. Lots of exciting things are happening. This morning Gregg was able to feel the baby move. After I was done working out, I was lying on the couch, eating and watching Regis and Kelly and the baby started kicking really hard. I could feel it with my hand so I called Gregg over and he was able to feel it too. It was really amazing. That is by far the hardest I have felt the baby so far. These next few months will be really busy. We are going to Whitefish for Thanksgiving next week. It will be so good to hang out for a few days with my family. Kendra's wedding shower is on Saturday, so we will get to see a lot of people in Whitefish. A few weeks later is her shower here and mom's coming into town. Then, in a few more weeks is Kendra and Gavin's big day. We got to go and see the dresses on Thursday. Kendra looked so pretty when she tried hers on. I can't believe its so soon.
Other good news, I qualified for Oregon Health Plan. This is such a blessing because they cover my doctor’s visits, delivery and after delivery care 100%. It also covers the baby's appointments after he or she is born. Even though we already have Blue Cross Blue Shield, we were going to have to pay about $3500-4000 in deductibles between this year and next year, so this will save us a lot of money. It also has full dental coverage with the plan. We don't even have to pay a monthly premium. It has been so amazing for us to see how God continues to take care of us and provide for us as we live in His will. He truly has blessed us so much more than we deserve! What a mighty God we serve.

Week 17

Yeah! I am finally starting to look pregnant. Also I got to feel the baby move some in the last few days. This has been a really fun week of being pregnant! I think I am starting to get a cold (not so fun) but really it hasn't been bad especially considering I haven't really had any bad pregnancy symptoms. Last night Gregg worked a 14 hour shift and didn't get home until 6 am. I hate sleeping at the house by myself, but I am really proud of the way he has stepped up to try to make some extra money. I am applying for Oregon Health Plan tomorrow, which will pay for my insurance deductible and any other things they don't cover. This would be a really blessing because it would mean we wouldn't have ANY medical bills at all, both now and after the baby is born. We are going to Whitefish for Thanksgiving for Kendra's shower and then my ultrasound and then Christmas and wedding stuff, so I think time will really fly by the next few months. Every week is one step closer to meeting our baby! It will be nice if we can find out the gender so we can stop calling the baby IT.

Week 16

For all who are curious, we get to find out if its a boy or a girl on December 7, 2007. I am so excited because I was able to schedule on a day that my mom is in town so my mom, Kendra and Gregg will all get to come with me. As long as the baby cooperates, we will know then.
Our friends, Matt and Kylee had their baby boy a few days ago. I am so excited for them. Seeing the little baby after seeing Kylee pregnant makes all this seem even more real. I am getting excited, I just don't know if I will be able to wait 24 more weeks ;) I actually am enjoying being pregnant, I am just not very patient!
We just found out we will get a very nice used crib and changing table from some friends of ours. This is a huge blessing because nice cribs are very expensive and we are going to have so many baby things to get. My clothes are starting to get tighter! Hopefully my maternity clothes will fit soon. Here's my latest belly picture.

15 weeks

So, I had another doctor's appointment today and got to hear our baby's heartbeat. Gregg had to work, so he didn't get to be there. I have gained 3 pounds so far, but my doctor said not to be worried because I still have plenty of time to gain weight and since everything looked normal. It really looks like I have gained more than that. I am still feeling great. I know it will get harder than this, but I feel so lucky so far. Really other than that I don't have anything new to say. I guess I need practice on blog writing.

Week 13 - I should have started this sooner...

Hi everyone,

Sorry I didn't start this sooner but because I have been blessed to not have morning sickness, my first trimester was fairly uneventful. Gregg and I found out we were pregnant on August 15. We were both hoping I was, but I was too scared to take a pregnancy test because I feared the disappointment of a negative result so I waited until 5 days after my missed period. Finally Gregg made me take one. You can guess what it showed. After going to the doctor and confirming that I was actually pregnant we had to decide how to tell my parents. I am not going to lie but I have been thinking about this for the past few years. Since it wasn't a holiday or anyone's birthday we decided that we would just give my mom and dad random presents. When they opened them they were excited to find bibs which read "I love my Grandpa" and "I love my Grandma." Everyone was happy.

We held off on telling my Grandparents until the beginning of September because we wanted to tell them in person. Gregg announced it while we were out to dinner with Grandma, Grandpa, Oma, and Papa. It was so much fun.

Here's a ultrasound picture from my first doctor's appointment in La Grande. I was about 10 weeks along. This was the first time it all really sank in. Gregg and I got to see our little baby moving around. This picture is my favorite. It is not quite as clear as it was on the screen, but you get the idea.

Here's a picture of my belly at 12 weeks. I like this one because my pants are tight and it makes me look more pregnant. Kendra and I went to Whitefish for a few days last week and we stopped in Spokane. I got to spend a gift card at the Gap, so I now have some really cute maternity clothes. Too bad none of them fit yet. But that will come soon enough I am sure.

I will add an update after my next appointment on October 23.
