Swimming, Huckleberries and New Things

Yesterday we went to the lake with a few of our friends. The water was slightly cold so all of the adults eased our way into play with our kids. Once we finally got used to the water the kids decide they were done and got out. We didn't want to get out because by that time, the water felt warmer than getting out. Here we are trying to get the kids to come back in.

We brought up hotdogs to bbq and I made a big pot of mac n cheese to eat.

After a long day, we all went to A&W for rootbeer floats and the kids tried on our sunglassed while we waited.

When Payton is trying to get more attention (like he doesn't get enough already) he resorts to sillyness.

He has interesting ways of getting things done sometimes, but he is persistant.

I still can't get over how old he is looking. I guess its a good thing we will have a new baby in 8 weeks or so because he is definitely not a baby anymore.

He pretends to sleep now. He will lay down and go "shh, shh, shh" like he is snoring.We have officially been approved to build. We have the loan paper work done as well as the building contract, so right now they are getting the septic stuff wrapped up and ground breaking should be any day. We went and picked out our flooring and on Thursday we are picking out our cabinets and countertops. Gregg is ordering our appliances through work because he can get a great deal on them. I can't wait to see the excavators digging!

Here is a look at the lot before progress begins:

Payton is getting more creative and more micheveous. When he can't quite reach to turn on his Elmo movie...this is what he does.

He knows he is not supposed to be on the coffee table, so here he is telling himself "no". He will give himself away when he is disobeying by repeating "no, no, no." If he comes in the playroom and climbs up to the computer, I know what is going on.A few friends and I took the kids huckleberry picking. We didn't really know if we would find any but after 45 minutes of driving, a few hours of picking, 7 kids 7 and under, and 3 of us managed to each get about 4 cups. Heres what we came home with. I wish I would have taken pictures while we were picking. I just kept setting Payton down in the middle of a patch and he would pick and eat as fast as he could. We were proud of ourselves for going for it with the kids and without any men to help us navigate.

28 weeks...Duck feeding and Glacier Park

Today for the first time in what feels like forever Gregg and I both had the day off and it wasn't Sunday. We spent the morning up at Glacier Park, but after it started sprinkling up there, we came back to Whitefish and went to feed the ducks at Riverside Park.

He is growing up so fast it is hard for me to believe. He is talking so much. Let me see if I can list all the words he can say that we actually understand:

mom, dad, gramma, papa, Kyler, Keaton (Keat), no, yes (while shaking head yes), ball, baseball, golf, juice, keys, balloon (this one is hilarious to hear), up (uppy but I am not sure why), cup, bottle, book, box (refering to his school box with crayons and pencils), dog (followed by barking), kittie, duck, three (when we count, one two three he says three when he goes), please, me (for mine), shoes, cheese, more and there are probably a few more now that I can't think of.

Kellen is very active just like Payton was. It makes me nervous for the time when they will both be mobile but at least we will be in our own house by then. I feel bad because when I was pregnant with Payton this blog was all about him, but this time around I don't really say much about Kellen because we are so busy with Payton. I am sure he will get plenty of attention once he is born.

Building (soon :)

So we still haven't actually started building but a start is in sight. We got approved to hook up to community water and our land was approved for a septic. Now we just have to wait a few weeks for the paper work to all go through at the county and we should be ready to start. By the time the financing is all ready we won't actually break ground until some time in August (only a few months behind plan) but our contractor said it should be smooth sailing from there. We have all our plans ready and have started picking out colors for cabinets and counters and all that fun stuff. It will feel so good to look out there and see something actually happening. I have come to terms with the fact that it won't be done before Kellen is born, but if all goes well its done in November.

Fourth of July was a lot of fun. As usual, we all had our Old Navy American Flag shirts on and my brothers bought and shot off way too many fireworks. Only a few fires in the field (our future home site) was fairly uneventful compared to most years and that is just the way we like it.

Feeding the ducks is now a regular occurence for us. Payton loves it and those ducks are so used to it they flock when you come to the pond.

A friend of mine let me borrow some of her maternity clothes which was so nice because most of what I had was winter stuff. Now I have some cute clothes to wear that actually fit me!

26 weeks

The weather here has been crazy... 90's one day, cold and rainy the next. But today looks pretty good so we are going to the beach with friends after Payton wakes up from his nap.

More summer fun... Payton 14 months...Kellen 24 weeks along

Payton lately has had an obsession with the hose. He knows how to turn it on and he loves using it to fill up the dog dish, water the flowers, wash his car, fill up the pool and chase people around spraying them. He plays cute like he is doing something innocent then he turns on you really fast and sprays you. My mom taught him how to put your finger on it to make it spray. Even with hats and sunscreen he has become very tan and his hair keeps getting lighter and lighter.

Another love is feeding the ducks. The other night Gregg and I had him at the park and he was throwing the bread in whole hotdog buns at a time and laughing. Then he started taking a bite of the bread in between each piece he threw. I guess thats how he shares :)

Kellen is growing alot. My belly has really popped out now and I have to wear some of my maternity pants. Its like I woke up one day and was huge! I feel him moving around all the time.

Very tired at the end of the day! He still always has to have his giraffey to sleep.

Catching up! Again...

So we are moved into my parent's house and it looks like we will live here for the summer until we find out if we are building (a meeting on July 6 should decide if we can hook up to water or not) or buying a place. We have looked at a few places to buy, but definately don't want to do that until we find out for sure about building.

I have been working a few days a week while my mom is out of school and can keep Payton. It seems to wear me out faster than when I was pregnant with Payton and I am only 22 weeks. Maybe because I don't sit around much while I am at home. Here are a few pictures of the last month.

Today he went and got his hair cut for the first time. I had cut it at home a few times, but Keaton was already going in to get his cut and we tagged along. In the last few months he has started to look older and more like Gregg anyways but now it is crazy home much they look alike.

He loves being outside and inevitably everytime we go outside he gets in the pool. Sometimes with his swim trunks on but more often than not it his clothes, tennis shoes and all. He got one of those red little tykes cozy cars and he loves it. He is not very good at making it walk yet (esp. on the grass) but he will sit in it and pretend to drive or yell to people to push him around in it. Summer is definately his season.

My friend had her little girl a few weeks ago and we found out that Payton loves little babies. He is always trying to kiss Elsie and feed her what ever the other kids are snacking. We go to the park at least once a week with group of friends here and he is getting really good at giving all the other moms on the playground a heart attack. Him and his little girl friend Olivia (who is a few months older than him) climb up the the highest part of the playground and hang over the edge just to freak us out. It is fun because 3 of my friends that go are pregnant and the one who isn't just had her little one a few weeks ago. Plus we all have kids under 4. Payton loves having all the kids to play with.

So it is officially a boy! We just got back from the ultrasound and it was amazing. Kellen looked healthy and big and they gave a due date of 10/28. I am so excited to have two boys so close in age. I hope Payton and Kellen will be good friends.

The latest in our family...

So the past few weeks have been nothing less then a whirlwind. The house idea is not coming along at all as planned. To make it short, because of what other people have done on the surrounding lots, it makes the lot we were going to build on unfit for digging a well on. We are looking into hooking up to the Happy Valley community water system, but it doesn't look to promising, so our plans to build may be coming to a halt. Right now I have a peace that God will provide, whether it be through building, or buying a house or simply renting for a while. I was stressed out about it while we were working on it for a few days, but it is simply not worth the stress. I have a healthy family, we have a job and insurance and we trust in a God who knows all things and has power over all things. I know His ways are better then my own so I am clinging to that.

On a happier note. We got to see the baby again last night. I was a model for the clinic that my friend works at. She was giving another tour and wanted to show them a live ultrasound, so I went down and we got to say hi to the little one. I am definately getting spoiled to see our baby so many times. Only 2 more weeks before the big ultrasound when we find out if Payton gets a brother or a sister. We saw the nether regions on the ultrasound last night and I know what I think it looks like, but I am not counting on it. It has definately got me more excited to find out.
