10 days old

We have had Lydia for 10 days now and she fits into our family perfectly. The boys love her and take every advantage to hold her and love on her. She is a great sleeper. Since the first day she was home she has been sleeping a 10 hour stretch at night only waking up to eat for 15 minutes or so once or twice during that time. She rarely fusses.

She has had quite an eventful little life so far. We came home from the hospital on day two of her life (Saturday). Sunday we attended church (which was also Father's Day) and then had a bbq at my parents' house for Gregg and Dad. Monday - Friday, Gregg had to go back to work because he is taking off 2 weeks in July and a week in August, so my mom came over some mornings to help. We went shopping, played outside and we attended VBS every evening. Thursday was Gregg's 28th Birthday so we took the kids to DQ, but since it was a crazy week we waited and partied with my family on Sunday. Saturday, Gregg had a meeting in the morning so my mom and I and the kids went garage saling. We started this week with going to Pizza Hut after church with our families to celebrate Gregg's Birthday. This week should be much quieter than last week. And even though last week was fun, I happy to have a few quiet weeks before we go to California.

She loves riding around in the sling (I will have to get a picture of this soon) and that is where she spent 6-8 pm every week day the first week of her life while I helped with VBS.

This was Payton's first year in the big kids group for VBS and he did awesome. They normally only do 4 and up but Payton and one of his friends, Olivia, are both pretty smart, so they let them move up to the big kids. They learned verses and sayings every night, played games, made crafts and had snacks. Lydi rode around in the sling with me. Kellen came with us a couple of the nights but 9pm bedtime was too late for him (Payton too, but we didn't want him to miss any nights) because they usually go to bed at 6pm.
Here are some pictures of our last week!

Lydia Annemarie Jones - June 17, 2011

The boys coming to meet Lydia for the first time :)

Lydi was born at 9;17 am on June 17, 2011. She weighed 7 lbs 5 oz and was 19 inches long.

Payton and Kellen both adored her and were facinated by her immediately. Kellen had to point out and name all of her features (eyes, nose, mouth etc.) and loved to hold her. Payton was quiet at first as he took it all in, but quickly warmed up and wanted to hold and cuddle her. He was so sweet and kept whispering things to her like "We have a bed at our house for you to sleep in" and "We waited a lot of weeks for you to come."

The boys...

It has occured to Gregg and I that we will only be able to say "the boys" for a few more weeks. We always say stuff like, get the boys dressed or put the boys in the car, and we were talking the other night about possibly going to La Grande when Kendra has her baby and we were talking about the boys, than Gregg was like, "No, the kids..." and it was weird to think about. Well for now it is still the boys and I am sure even after Lydi is here there will be plenty of instances we will be referring to the two of them and we will still use it. Now I will also have to decide if I will try to match all three (not that we do this everyday, but a lot of time there outfits go together). Ahh, it will be so fun to have a girl :)

6 weeks or so...

For some unknown reason we let the boys get completely muddy in white shirts...Good thing for bleach :)Last weekend my parents kept the boys while we went to Spokane for a few days. It was so fun to get away and relax without the kids. I did miss them quite a bit and we were ready to come home after two nights of not seeing them. While we were there we got a new carseat for Lydia...which I love! It is black and white with little hot pink on it. I am sure there will be pictures of her in it to post after she is born.

This weekend was Mother's day. We celebrated by making brunch for my mom and Gregg's mom at Kendra' house. I brought baked french toast and bacon and Kendra made a yummy egg dish and fruit salad. Since Kyler had to work all day, after brunch we hung out at our house and let the boys play outside until Kyler got off work at 6:30 and then we all had frozen yogurt at the Red Caboose. We hadn't been in there before and it was great. Fun day!

Here are a few of the boys playing us a Mother's day song :)

I am definitely starting to feel the fatigue of pregnancy with two little kids! It is my own fault because I keep doing too much. Gregg has been awesome taking care of so much so I don't have to, but sometimes I just don't let my self sit when I should. Lydi seems to be more active then the boys were, but I can't really remember. I have got to the point of not being able to sleep as well...I think that adds to my tiredness. I am already at the point of counting down :)

I hardly took or posted any pictures of myself pregnant with Lydi so Gregg took a few this afternoon and I decided to post them. I am 34 weeks on Thursday so hopefully she is here in 6 weeks (or less!)

Happy Birthday Payton and Easter

This was a busy weekend at the Jones house! On Good Friday, the men worked all day to set up Payton and Kellen's new playset and it was a lot of work. Kendra, mom and I spent most of the day playing with the boys and keeping them busy and out of the way of construction, by playing at the McDonald's playland and dying Easter Eggs. Set up ended up going through to Saturday morning, but they were able to finish it in time for the kids to play on it at Payton's Birthday party. Kendra and I even did quite a bit!

Gregg, Dad and Gavin did most of the work and Keaton did a little project management

We did eggs for the babies too...By Thanksgiving we will have twice as many kids at our family holidays :)Kellen writing his name on his egg...he only broke two while dying which I thought was pretty good. Payton loved dying eggs and mixing colors.

Saturday was Payton's 3rd Birthday! I still can't believe it was three years ago that we brought him home from the hospital. It has gone so fast! We had lots of good friends over for a party that included an egg hunt, mini ice cream worm and dirt cakes, and a lot of sunshine which allowed the kids to run around try out the new playset which Gregg, my dad, Gavin and some friends completed during the first half hour of the party. It didn't seem to bother the kids who were playing on it while the men were still working :)He was so excited about every card and present.

Dad and Gregg watching the present opening.

The boys jamming together. We need to restring Payton's guitar because he is a lefty.

The playset was a big hit! Our house will definitely be the cool place to hang out this summer.

Sunday was Easter, so we woke up and did an Easter hunt with the boys, which included Payton and Kellen searching the house for 10 items: Two Carrot baseball bats, two new movies, two boxes of animal cookies, two color wonder boards and two baskets full of bubbles, sidewalk chalk and a few pieces of candy. Payton was such a good big brother letting Kellen find some of the stuff and giving him hints when he saw them. After the hunt we headed to the church for Easter Breakfast and Service. Then home for naps before we headed to mom and dad's for a barbeque.

The weather here had been awful up until this weekend but this weekend we had clear sunny skies and warm weather. It was so perfect! The family - this was actually one of the last pictures we took and Payton was over it :)

Our attempt at a family picture where we are all looking at the camera and smiling!
Me at 31 weeks and Kendra at 25 weeks.
