Bunk Beds
We had been planning to get the boys bunk beds around when Lydi grew out of her crib (which won't be for another year or so) but when Costco got exactly the type we wanted, we decided now was as good of time as any. When you find furniture you want at Costco you have to get it right away because you never know if or when they will have it again. They have had quite a few bunk beds over the years but the most recent ones were either really dark wood or white wood. The boys had fun "helping" Gregg build them.

A new hobby of ours has been cooking. I never really enjoyed cooking much because I had never really done it but the past few months we have been trying to clean up our lifestyle from safer (less chemical) cleaning and personal products to healthy, cleaner eating. One way to spend a lot less on clean eating is making food from scratch. I thought it would be a nearly impossible task with 3 kids under 4 but it has been SO fun for me and the boys. It actually keeps everyone entertained and involved which has produced some awesome quality time and because they are helping make the food they are so eager to try it. One website www.thegraciouspantry.com has been a great starting place for recipes. We have tried homemade thin crust pizza, super healthy waffles topped with fruit and peanut butter, new chicken recipes, quinoa and beans and we have a whole list of other things we are ready to try. Tomorrow we will make our own noodles. Gregg is getting me a bread machine and so it will be easier to make healthy and preservative free bread! I will have to get some pictures of the boys in action tomorrow during noodle making.
Payton is so grown up now sometimes I just have to stop and soak it in. He is really into Skylanders (a Xbox game that Gregg bought with his Christmas gift cards for he and Payton to play together.) At first I wasn't excited about having my 3 year old playing a video game, but they have a great time playing it together and we definitely limit his video game time. He is so excited for school that it is hard to keep reminding him it is still 8 months away. He has been sounding words out and he continues to amaze me everyday...he will probably be reading before he even starts preschool.
Kellen has been potty training lately and is pretty much completely potty trained. He loves being a big boy like Payton. He is soaking in everything Payton is learning and I wouldn't be surprised if he is even a little ahead of where Payton was at this age just because he is exposed to so much. We are experiencing the lovely terrible twos with him right now. So the past few weeks we have started having our fair share of tantrums and "No ways" but now after going through the same thing with Payton I have faith in our parenting and know it will pass!
Lydi is growing fast weighing in at over 17lbs and getting good at crawling. She love talking to everyone, but is definitely a mama's girl. If she sees me walk in the room she bouces up and down, yelling and reaching for me. She is working really hard at pulling herself up on things, sometimes successful and sometimes nose diving. She is really such a joy to us and the boys are still head over heels for her.
Gregg is doing awesome with his new position. I am so proud of how well he is doing. We were in Best Buy bringing him dinner and while he was on the phone a customer came up to me to brag on him to us. She said he was so helpful and caring when she was working with him that she just knew he must be an awesome daddy. I love seeing him being so successful at what he does.

A LONG Week!
Last week we took the kids for a eye appointment. None of them had ever been to the eye doctors but since I had a lazy eye as a kid, our pediatrition wanted them to all have a routine visit. Thankfully none of them inherited my lazy eye problem and they all could see well, but the eye doctor did mention that Lydi's optic nerve appeared swollen. He said even though it could be a sign of a serious problem, because there were no other symptoms it was probably just how hers were. He had us comeback to recheck them in a week.
Monday Kellen woke up with a fever and because of his ear infection issues a few months ago, we decided to bring him in for a dr appointment Tuesday just to check his ears. His appointment ended up being at the same time as Lydi's follow up so Gregg and the boys went to one dr while Lydi and I headed to the other. Kelly ended up being fine (or so they said) but the eye doctor said he couldn't get a good enough look at Lydi's optic nerve so he recommended a pediatric opthomologist in Missoula and they even though they are normally a couple months out they had a cancellation that afternoon. Since it was a couple hour drive and Gregg didn't have to work until the next afternoon, we decided to make a night out of it and stay in a hotel, go out to dinner and swim. The appointment went well and the dr felt that it was probably her "normal". They will monitor it over the next few months but it should be no big deal. That night after a fun dinner and swim we were getting the kids ready for bed and Kellen's fever had spiked again and he was coughing a little. Lydi woke up an hour or two later and she had a fever and weird breathing as well. The night went downhill from there. No one got much sleep and there was a time in the middle of the night where we actually considered just driving home. Over the next few days all three of them had fevers all day and all night long and the coughing got progressively worse. They all had a brutal croup virus and finally tonight 6 days later they are recovering. Payton still has a hoarse voice and they all are still coughing but nothing like the past few nights. Glad we are almost done with it!
Here are a few sicky pictures and the rest are from today enjoying the new snow. I can't believe its the middle of January and we are just getting a little snow!

Christmas Clothes :)
Every year my grandma sends us all Christmas sweaters. Here are the pictures from after the Christmas eve service. Some of the groupings worked out well, some were challenging! But pictures go that way with my family, so imagine how tough it was adding another baby to the mix with Hudson there!
Christmas Time 2011
We had so much fun at Christmas! It was so great to have Kendra, Gavin, Hudson, Keaton and Big Papa to join us. The boys had a blast and everyone got cool presents. It was fun this year because Christmas was on a Sunday so we had our Christmas eve service Saturday night, came home and made BLT's with the family and opened the presents from GG and Gramps. The boys got sleeping bags from REI that will be awesome for camping this summer (and of course they had to bring them to bed with them to sleep in them!). On Christmas morning our kids slept in finally at 8 we woke up Lydi and headed up to my parents. The kids opened their stockings and we all had the traditional Cinnamon rolls and OJ for breakfast and then we all headed to church. We let the kids go in their jammies which they thought was awesome. After church we came back home for taco soup and round two of presents. It was fun because we took our time and there was no rush. When I say no rush I mean it took us 3 hours to go around the circle one at a time and open all the gifts.
